WWE: Smackdown Live Full Results: January 20, 2018

We expected to hear from AJ Styles on the championship scenario who returned on last night’s Smackdown.

Apart from that, there was a huge six-woman tag team match stored on the show with Fastlane PPV implications attached to it. Check out the results from the show took place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

AJ Styles kicked off Smackdown Live in a warm reception from the Phoenix crowd. His promo was interrupted by Baron Corbin who claimed to take the WWE title away from Styles at Fastlane. Kevin Owens walked out to point out that Corbin does not deserve a chance to the title. A heated confrontation broke out between the three forcing Shane McMahon to come out.

He booked the opening contest in the form of Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler. Both men tried to hit their finishing move. But, only Ziggler managed to pull off the Zig-zag. Owens kicked out of that, as Sami Zayn walked out to provide the distraction for the show-off. Owens connected with the superkick to win the opening contest of the show.

Jinder Mahal addressed the United States Championship picture by cutting a promo on Bobby Roode. The champion came out to counter his dialogues with his promo. Randy Orton walked out creating the opening for Roode to attack Mahal and Sunil Singh. Orton tried to hit an RKO on Roode but got planted with a DDT. Mahal hit the Khallas on Roode to end the segment.

The six-woman tag team match took place next on Smackdown Live, as the babyface team of Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Becky Lynch capitalised in the early part of the matchup. The heels backfired at the latter part when Charlotte managed to give the hot tag to Becky. Sarah Logan got on the apron to distract Becky allowing Ruby Riott to hit a kick to pin her for the win.

The number one contender’s match was a good one between The New Day and Chad Gable-Shelton Benjamin. The heel team was on the verge to win by hitting their finishing move when the pinfall attempt was broken. Woods got the hot tag and cleaned house. Delivering a knee, he picked up the win. The Bludgeon Brothers squashed a local talent in quick time.

The main event witnessed another match set up by Shane McMahon. AJ Styles took on Baron Corbin in a solid matchup. Corbin hit the Deep-six on Styles but failed to gain the pinfall. Styles came off the top rope hitting the forearm to pick up the win. After the match, Owens and Zayn came out to deliver an attack on Styles. But, Corbin planted both of them with End of Days to end the show.
