Recently, we have witnessed a solid main event contest on Smackdown featuring a surprise return. An unusual edition of Miz TV was in-store with two monsters as his guests.
Plus, the new contender for WWE title squared off in a match against a member of The New Day.
Talking about the similar contest, here are the results from the show that took place at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
The Miz kicked off Smackdown Live with Miz TV. The Bludgeon Brothers were his guests. Miz continued to praise their beatdowns on Daniel Bryan from last week.
Bryan’s music hit the arena as he approached to issue a challenge to the Bludgeons. Luke Harper accepted the fight setting up the main event of the night.
Rusev vs. Xavier Woods was the opening contest of Smackdown Live. The Bulgarian Brute took early control of the match by hitting a spine-buster.
Woods came back with a superkick. But he missed a top rope move and ran into a Machka Kick right away. Rusev locked the Accolade on Woods to clinch the victory. He also cut a promo on AJ Styles after the match.
Jeff Hardy vs. Nakamura was the original match scheduled for Smackdown. But Eric Young from SAnitY turned out to be Hardy’s opponent. The Usos showed up to seek redemption from last week disqualifying the contest.
The interference set up a six-man tag team match. Hardy teamed with the Usos to take on the three members of SAnitY. Jimmy came up with a high-flying move to put the SAnitY members down.
Jey gave a superkick to Wolfe and tagged Hardy in. The United States (US) champion connected with his pendant Swanton Bomb to pick up the win.
Becky Lynch was in action on Smackdown Live against Sonya Deville. She tried to go for her submission move but Sonya dodged it with an Enziguiri.
Becky went to the top rope but Mandy distracts her as Sonya dropped her to the mat. The Irish Lass-kicker tripped Sonya quickly and locked in the dis-arm-her to get the submission win.
James Ellsworth was in the middle of the ring cutting a promo on Asuka. He was ready to take on Asuka in a singles contest.
Paige came down to the ring as Ellsworth invited her on a date. The Smackdown general manager informed her that Asuka will face her on next week’s Smackdown. Also, she will get a chance to Carmella’s championship at Extreme Rules.
Bryan locked horns with Luke Harper in the main event of Smackdown Live. The two Bludgeons started attacking Bryan in the middle of the match. Kane’s music hit the arena as he appeared out of nowhere and delivered a chokeslam on Harper.
