As expected, the buildups for the Money in the Bank ladder match continued on last night’s Smackdown Live. A string of qualifiers took place on the show. The outcomes of those contests turned out to be quite surprising as we received more names into the upcoming ladder match. Check out the full results from the show hosted by the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
WWE Smackdown Live kicked off with Paige hyping up the Money in the Bank PPV. She once again confirmed that there will be two MITB matches on June 27th. Plus, she ran down the results of the outcomes of the Backlash card. But, going forward, the MITB matches will take place on the show.
The first qualifier from Smackdown Live was contested between Jeff Hardy and The Miz. Jeff went for a spear to The Miz but a reverse neck breaker was hit by his opponent. Miz also countered a spear from Hardy. Later, Hardy went for the Swanton Bomb but missed. The Miz rolled him up for the win.
Charlotte squared off in a singles match against Peyton Royce in a MITB qualifier. Prior to the match, the IIconics delivered an insulting promo to the Queen. Charlotte punished Royce with a spear but Royce kicked out. But, she ultimately got locked in the Figure-eight after which Royce tapped out.
Cesaro looked frustrated for Sheamus coming up short against Xavier Woods, last week. So, the Swiss Cyborg wanted to take on Woods on Smackdown, this week. Woods climbed on the top rope but missed the elbow due to distraction from Sheamus. He tried it once more but ran into a big elbow by Cesaro to end up losing.
Becky Lynch squared off in a singles match against Mandy Rose on Smackdown Live. Sonya Deville was barred from ringside but Mandy was still able to pick up the win. She pushed Becky into the turnbuckle to roll her up for the win.
In the main event of Smackdown, Daniel Bryan squared off against Rusev. Bryan was down with an early slam from the Bulgarian Brute who also went for the Accolade.
But, Bryan connected with the YES kicks and hit hard Rusev with a missile dropkick. Later, Rusev hit the injured midrib of Bryan and followed it up with a Machka Kick for the win.
