We witnessed the initial buildups for the Survivor Series PPV on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. A rematch from Hell in a Cell between Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode was already announced for the show. Plus, the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal made his return. Here’s what went down at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington.
Smackdown was kicked off by the hometown hero, Daniel Bryan who got a massive reaction from the crowd. In the midst of all the chants, the GM plugged in for the in-store segments of the show including a six women tag team match, Jinder Mahal issuing a challenge and a rematch from Hell in a Cell.
Speaking of the bygone PPV led him to Sami Zayn’s disgustful actions. Zayn and Kevin Owens came down to the ring and started to taunt Bryan for retiring from in-ring competition and turning into a ‘housewife’. An irate Bryan left the ring to find a couple of guys who can punch in the face of the duos.
A six-woman tag team action took place next from the women’s division. Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Naomi teamed up against the team of Natalya, Lana, and Tamina with Carmella standing at the ringside area. The babyface team picked up the win via Charlotte’s figure eight submission move to Lana.
Following the match, Nattie went to attack Charlotte with a chair, but she retaliated and delivered a big boot. She went to hit the champion with the chair, but Natalya decided to escape through the crowd.
A segment of Fashion Police was aired with the Ascension present in it. In the rematch between Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode, Ziggler picked up the win via dirty tricks. He pulled the tights of Roode to get the win and cut a heel promo after the match.
Baron Corbin was scheduled for a match against Sin Cara on Smackdown. Before the match, the US Champion intended to make it a title match but did not do it. Cara took control of the match by hitting Corbin with some offensive moves. He hit a plancha on the floor to the champion to give him a count out win.

Jinder Mahal issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in a Champion vs Champion match. As he was cutting a heel promo, AJ Styles interrupted and wanted an opportunity to the WWE title. As Jinder blasted him with nasty words, Styles started hitting him with some quick moves. Jinder was sent away from the ring with a Pele Kick.
In the main event, Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura took on the team of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Via Owens’ distraction, Zayn was able to hit Orton with a low blow and then connect with the Helluva Kick to get the pinfall win. Following the match, they had a confrontation with Daniel Bryan who closed the show by informing that Shane McMahon will return next week.
