This was the final episode of Smackdown Live before Evolution PPV takes place this Sunday night. Rey Mysterio opened up on Miz TV for the first time since return. Rusev and Aiden English competed in their first singles matchup. Plus, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan formed a dream tag team, once more. Here are the results from the show that took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The New Day kicked off this week’s Smackdown talking about heel turn of Big Show. They wanted retributions and hence received a match. Kofi Kingston competed against Big Show in it. Big Show delivered three chokeslams on him after which a melee broke out inside the ring. New Day and Bar members fought in it until Big Show delivered a KO punch to Xavier Woods.

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan teamed up once again to take on the Usos. They were able to take control by flooring the Samoan Twins with high flying actions. AJ was able to lock the Calf Crusher on Jimmy but Jey broke up the attempt. Bryan sent Jey to outside. AJ went to hit Jimmy with an overhead kick but connected it on Bryan. Jimmy hit a superkick on AJ to get the win.
Rusev competed against Aiden English on Smackdown Live. Aiden tried to escape until Lana blocked his path. Rusev caught and sent him to the barricade. Aiden fought back with a big boot and a swinging neck breaker. He continued with stomps but Lana threw her shoe into the ring. Aiden ran into a Machka Kick and the Accolade to tap out.

The Miz welcomed everyone to Miz TV on Smackdown Live. He invited Rey Mysterio as a special guest asking why he is back in the WWE. No one wants to see a little man but a star like The Miz. Rey blasted him saying he wanted to be on Truth TV instead. A heated verbal war broke out leading The Miz attacking Rey all of a sudden.
But Rey fought back with an Enziguiri. The two competed on Smackdown in a match, too. Rey hit a splash outside the ring on Miz to take control. But Miz hit onto the kidney and followed up with a DDT to fight back. The Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale but Rey sent him into the second rope to hit the 619. He connected with a top rope frog splash to pick up the win.

The IIconics appeared on Smackdown cutting a promo on Evolution battle royal. Lana’s music hit to cut them off. Carmella also appeared on the show cheering the crowd for a dance break. She continued to dance in the tunes of a song until Asuka, Naomi and Zelina Vega appeared for a brawl inside the ring. It ended with Asuka throwing Vega outside the ring to stand tall.
Shane McMahon hyped up the Evolution PPV before starting the main event of Smackdown. Jeff Hardy competed against Randy Orton on it. He tried to gain the upper hand hitting an Atomic Drop. But Orton backfired dropping Jeff onto the announce table. He punished Jeff putting his hand into the ear-hole throughout the match. In the end, Orton converted a Twist of Fate into an RKO for the win.
