After staying out of action from WWE Smackdown for the past couple of months, Bobby Lashley finally made his return, this week. Putting aside the rumors of reuniting The Hurt Business faction, he’s likely setting up a new group featuring two former tag team champions in the WWE.
In a backstage segment during this week’s WWE Smackdown, a car was seen parking outside the host arena in front of which The Street Profits – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were standing. They were standing to green the returning Lashley who stepped out of the car and then invited the two of them into it. The car then drove off the arena.

Bobby Lashley has not properly been utilized since arriving on WWE Smackdown
The irregular schedule of Bobby Lashley in the WWE continues since the Wrestlemania 39 season. He was supposed to face Bray Wyatt at the biggest premium live event of the year but that match was canceled due to Wyatt’s absence. Although Lashley went on to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, that match took place on the episode of WWE SmackDown before WrestleMania. Lashley himself reportedly did not want to wrestle at Wrestlemania as he wasn’t happy with the creative direction around him.
If truth be told then the former WWE Champion hasn’t been properly utilized since his arrival on the WWE Smackdown brand, earlier this year. Bray Wyatt was set for a big program with Lashley which began after Lashley’s match against Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber. But all of a sudden, Wyatt was removed from TV and live events due to an undisclosed illness which also hurt Lashley’s strong TV character.
Before this week’s WWE Smackdown, Lashley made a one-off appearance on the June 17 WWE Supershow in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the third match on the card, The All Mighty was victorious against Karrion Kross in a fresh encounter. This was a hint of the two-time WWE Champion’s eventual return to TV which should now happen in a brand new capacity.
