En route to Elimination Chamber 2023, WWE Smackdown is set to deliver yet another episode where the blue brand tag team titles will be on the line. In another big match of the night, a fatal-4-way will go down to determine the new number-one contender for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Top WWE Raw Superstar Went Into Hiatus After Royal Rumble 2023
Last week on WWE Smackdown, Roman Reigns delivered a warning to Sami Zayn, following the latter’s betrayal during the finishing moments of the 2023 Royal Rumble. Zayn would dare to attack Reigns from behind and issued a title match challenge for Reigns. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa then backed up Reigns and laid out Zayn with a sneak attack.
Roman Reigns eventually accepted the challenge made by Zayn to make the title match official at Elimination Chamber. But prior to that, The Bloodline members will have to retain yet another pair of titles when Braun Strowman and Ricochet challenge for the WWE Smackdown tag team championships held by The Usos.

The Tribal Chief blamed Sami for breaking up The Bloodline since Jey Uso walked out of the beatdown to Zayn during the finishing segment of Royal Rumble. Since then, no one could have traced one-half of the tag team champions.
The question is whether the Uso twin will show up on this week’s WWE Smackdown for the title match. Even if he does so, he’s not likely to be on the same page with Jimmy which puts the tag team titles’ future in The Bloodline in full jeopardy. With Strowman and Ricochet’s current momentums, it’s safe to assume a championship change.

Gunther has been a dominant Intercontinental Champion on WWE Smackdown who last defended her title on the January 13 episode. On that night he retained against Braun Strowman via clean pinfall. Now, it’s time for him to receive the next title match opponent.
As confirmed, WWE Smackdown will be the host of a Fatal-4-Way match set for this week. Madcap Moss, Karrion Kross, Rey Mysterio, and Santos Escobar will battle in it with the winner getting a shot at Gunther and his IC title. Possibly, this match could be inserted into the Elimination Chamber match card.
