As WWE Smackdown prepares its journey towards Money in the Bank 2022, the biggest question remains whether Riddle could finally get his hands on Roman Reigns. The Raw Superstar will continue to make his presence on the blue brand in hope of a title match proposed on Raw.
In more announcements, Ricochet’s IC Title would be in jeopardy as a former NXT UK Champion challenges him for the title. A new faction could be kicked off alongside the return of Lacey Evans on WWE Smackdown that takes place at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Riddle is clear in his mind that he wants a piece of the Tribal Chief. On this week’s Monday Night Raw, the former Raw Tag Team Champion defeated The Miz in an impromptu match in a singles capacity. Prior to that he also appeared on Miz TV where the King of Bros said he was tired of fighting Sami Zayn and The Usos every week and that it was time to fight Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
Following that announcement, the stage is set for a confrontation on WWE Smackdown. Over on Raw Talk, Riddle said that he was coming for Reigns and on the blue brand as he is looking for the title match,
“This Friday, I’m gonna show up to SmackDown, and eventually I’m gonna find the Tribal Chief. I’m gonna get my match. I’m gonna do what stallions do and take that championship away, bro.”
There’s confusion around Roman Reigns’ presence on WWE Smackdown since he’s recently removed from Money in the Bank promotions and it’s likely that he won’t be involved in any kind of buildups, at this moment. Riddle will also have to be careful during his appearance since no one would be there to back him up against The Usos.

WWE Smackdown Preview (10/06/22): Intercontinental Title Match
As announced last week, WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet will defend his title on this week’s WWE SmackDown against Gunther. Ricochet and Gunther hyped up their match via backstage promos, last Friday night. The two men have been involved in a feud for a few weeks. Gunther and his ally Ludwig Kaiser defeated Ricochet and Drew Gulak in a tag team bout on the May 27 episode which set up this title match in the first place.
WWE Smackdown: Charlotte Flair Possibly Returning On Tonight’s Episode?
It has also been confirmed that Lacey Evans will be switching from WWE Raw to WWE SmackDown roster, starting this week. After reports about the same were published by outlets, WWE also announced her return to in-ring action for tonight. Her opponent would be the first Chinese superstar on the main roster, Xia Li.
Originally, Evans was scheduled to compete on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw but she was a no-show due to her Marshal duties in a NASCAR race. The Lady of the WWE has not wrestled since the February 15, 2021 episode of Raw, where she and Peyton Royce lost to Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a tag team match.
WWE Smackdown will also witness Max Dupri (fka LA Knight) in the WWE will reveal the first client of his Maximum Male Models stable. There’s no update on who would be unveiled as his first client but over the past few weeks, Dupri has been managing the likes of Mansoor and Mace in dark segments.
