This Friday night marks the beginning of a new era with a new set that will be used for the show. Also, the card is stacked as this is going to be the go-home episode for Money In The Bank 2021 PPV event.

A one-of-a-kind main event is listed where WWE Hall of Famer Edge will team up with The Mysterios to take on the team of Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Usos. A Fatal-4-Way match will be there where blue brand ladder match participants will fight out. Also, SmackDown Women’s Championship will be on the line when the show takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

WWE Money In The Bank 2021: Spoiler On Former Champion’s Return

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Edge are headed to their much-anticipated one-on-one matchup, this Sunday as they continued to brawl during this past episode of SmackDown. The Usos made their way down to help out Reigns, but then Rey and Dominik Mysterio joined the melee in aid of Edge. In the following moments, Reigns escaped the ring but The Usos suffered the wrath of the Rated R Superstar.

Then on Talking Smack, Kayla Braxton and Pat McAfee announced that Roman Reigns, Jimmy, and Jey Uso will go up against Edge, Rey, and Dominik Mysterio in a six-man tag action this week. This one is going to be an all-out brawl as the two tandems just can’t stand each other. WWE Smackdown Preview (16/07/21): Women’s Title Match

Last week, WWE had announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair will defend her title during the live edition in Houston which marks WWE’s return to the road. Bayley was originally scheduled for an “I Quit” match against Belair at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 18. But she is out of action with a torn ACL who could be on the shelf for 9 months.

Sonya Deville was about to announce a “suitable replacement” for Bayley at Money in the Bank, but she entirely scrapped the PPV title match. Deville then announced Carmella vs. Belair for this week’s episode of SmackDown. Carmella was awarded the match for her past accolades.

Liv Morgan, again interrupting Deville and Carmella as she accused Deville of playing favoritism. Deville then included in her announcement that Morgan will replace Carmella in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, representing the SmackDown brand. Liv sent a warning to Carmella about cashing in the MITB contract on Carmella if she wins the title.

In more news from the situation, Natalya was announced to be the overall seventh participant for the MITB Ladder Match from the Women’s Division. This leaves only one spot for the female side to fill the lineup. Speculations are heavy that Sonya Deville might end up announcing herself for that spot which should be confirmed on this week’s SmackDown.

From the men’s side, the four Superstars from the SmackDown side have already been confirmed. Now they will feature in a Fatal 4 Way with the lineup being Big E vs. King Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens. This is going to serve as a preview of the MITB Ladder Match as these four will join RAW Superstars Ricochet, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, and John Morrison in the Men’s MITB Ladder Match, this Sunday.
