Just a day ahead of the annual Elimination Chamber event, WWE Smackdown will present the go-home edition. Goldberg will come face to face with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns before their dream bout at the PPV event in the headliner. Ronda Rousey will be present to sign a contract for her scheduled tag team match at the Chamber event while there will also be an Intercontinental Title match at the show taped from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

During the post-Royal Rumble edition of WWE Smackdown, Goldberg made his return to WWE TV, challenging Reigns to a title match at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. The dream spear vs. spear match has thereby been confirmed and it is just a few hours away. Ahead of that bout, the two titans will be under one roof for a face-off segment.

It’s believed that this match will mark the final of his current stint as he is scheduled for surgery. That being said, Goldberg is likely making his final WWE Smackdown appearance, this week, at least for the time being. At this point, Reigns is scheduled to defend against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. The match could also become Title vs. Title if Lesnar wins the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber.

WWE Smackdown Preview (18/02/22): Goldberg-Roman Reigns; Title Match 1

A title match has been announced for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown where WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will defend against Sami Zayn. The challenger is getting his title shot after a long wait. Zayn has continued his feud with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville through the Royal Rumble during the in-ring absence of Nakamura.

Zayn has been the number-one contender to Nakamura since winning the 12 Days of Christmas Gauntlet match on the December 24 edition of WWE SmackDown. As noted, the title shot was supposed to go down, much earlier but it was delayed due to Nakamura suffering a hand injury at a December 18 WWE live event. The mid-card champion has recently been cleared to return to action, in recent times.

WWE Smackdown Preview (18/02/22): Contract signing segment

WWE Smackdown Preview (18/02/22): Goldberg-Roman Reigns; Title Match 2

WWE announced last week that Ronda Rousey will team up with Naomi to take on the team of Sonya Deville and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at Elimination Chamber PPV, this Saturday. A contract signing will be held for the match, tonight and PWInsider reports that a stipulation will be revealed for the match where Rousey may have one hand tied behind her back.

The stipulation was already hinted at last week after Rousey was interviewed, backstage after last week’s WWE SmackDown. She was asked if she’s worried about Deville’s involvement in the match to which the Women’s Royal Rumble match winner stated the following,

“Worried about Sonya? No, I can beat Sonya with one hand tied behind my back. She’s the last of my worries.”

It has also been reported that the taped contract signing segment features some sort of botch from the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion. Hence, WWE is likely to edit the segment to cover up the same and thereby avoid any kind of further backlash around Flair as she heads into her first matchup in Saudi Arabia soil.
