WWE Smackdown marks the final edition of WWE programming before the annual tradition of Survivor Series. Before the brand war, the blue brand needs to update its lineup from both the men’s division. A big return is happening in the form of a former WWE Champion. Also, Sasha Banks will be seen in action against a newly turned heel superstar on the show that takes place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
Last week’s WWE SmackDown on FOX main event saw Roman Reigns battle, King Xavier Woods, for the right to control the blue brand. The back and forth battle witnessed Woods flying across the ring with a Coast 2 Coast elbow drop for a pinfall attempt.

As he was going for the pin, WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos rushed the ring and attacked him for the finish. Kofi Kingston wasn’t present at ringside as he was absent due to an MCL sprain, caused by The Bloodline, itself in a previous attack. There is still no word on if Kingston is legitimately injured.
Following the match, Paul Heyman handed them the crown that Woods won in the King of the Ring 2021 tournament. The boos got louder as The Usos put that crown on Reigns’ head, while he was down on one knee. The Bloodline then stood tall in the middle of the ring, with their fingers in the air. Since this was a Championship Contender’s Match and witnessed a No Contest outcome, a rematch is possibly coming.
WWE SmackDown will feature Sasha Banks vs. Shotzi in singles action. Banks and Shotzi started feuding two weeks ago after Shotzi snapped on Banks after losing a non-title match to SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Then last week, Banks, Aliyah, and Naomi defeated Shotzi, Natalya, and Shayna Baszler in a six-woman tag team action.
WWE Smackdown Preview (19/11/21): Former WWE Champion to return
Sheamus will also be back on WWE Smackdown, this week. The Celtic Warrior underwent a second nose surgery at the end of September. The injury was originally suffered in May but it was re-aggravated a few times since then. The former world champion then returned to action during WWE’s UK tour that went through this past week. He has not wrestled on TV since the September 27 edition of RAW and then he was sent to the blue brand due to the WWE Draft.

Then WWE Smackdown newcomer Ridge Holland talked to Kayla Braxton about how he was looking forward to meeting his idol Sheamus now that they would be on the same brand. Holland said that he’s proud to follow in the footsteps of The Celtic Warrior but then Sheamus’ former buddy Cesaro warned him about the former The Bar member.
During last week’s WWE Smackdown on FOX, Sonya Deville pulled Aliyah from the women’s team after Aliyah got the win for her team in the six-woman tag team contest that saw Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Aliyah defeating Shotzi, Natalya, and Shayna Baszler. Deville later approached Aliyah backstage and said that the newbie was removed from the team.

Also, on WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn was defeated by Jeff Hardy and thereby he lost his spot on Team SmackDown. Now Aliyah’s replacement has been announced in the form of Toni Storm while Zayn’s fill-in is yet to be announced. It’s assumed that Von Waghner from NXT could become the replacement given he made his main roster debut, last week.
