A week remaining in the annual Royal Rumble PPV event, WWE Smackdown will confirm one of the main event matches when the dual champion and his current challenger will feature in a contract signing. Also, a tag team contenders’ tournament will commence on the January 20 episode that takes place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
After a long wait, Kevin Owens has finally got the chance to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event. The match was made official, two weeks ago on WWE Smackdown and Owens had to make the least effort to secure the matchup.

Roman Reigns literally wanted to go Owens away from his face as he just can’t stand The Prizefighter. However, now he will be back on board the blue brand to sign on the dotted lines alongside the undisputed champion in a contract signing segment over the undisputed title.
This comes after The Prized Fighter was destroyed by The Bloodline in the main event of WWE SmackDown, last week at the hands of Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos. This obviously keeps him in an irate state as he already tried to ambush The Bloodline members on Raw. We’ll see whether the former Universal Champion goes at it, once again with the bonafide heels of the WWE.

WWE Smackdown Preview (20/01/23): New challengers to be declared for tag titles
Last week on WWE Raw, WWE Official Adam Pearce announced a tag team turmoil match which the Judgment Day won to secure a shot at the RAW Tag Team Championship. That match against The Usos has now been made official for the WWE Raw 30th anniversary, next Monday night.
To decide the fate of the WWE Smackdown tag team titles, a tournament will go down to pick the new number-one contenders for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Details around the number of teams and format are yet to be announced except for the first matchup.
As seen on last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre made it clear they want a piece of The Viking Raiders. Pearce quickly granted their wish, announcing The Banger Bros vs. The Viking Raiders in the first round of the tournament that will be underway, tonight.
The feud between Banger Bros and Vikings started a couple of weeks ago after the latter duo suddenly attacked the two babyfaces after they came up short in a tag team title match against The Usos. Now, the two former WWE Champions are coming for vengeance in full force along with a title match opportunity.
