These are hints that most of the current feud will for the next event in line i.e. Hell in a Cell. Tonight’s show will come live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The WWE Championship rivalry is over between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. We have just seen a prelude of what’s to come in the following weeks on Smackdown Live. Venue of the Hell in a Cell PPV already confirmed a rematch between them for the main event of the show. We can expect an official announcement for this on tonight’s edition. AJ Styles will also give an exclusive interview to the fans.
Charlotte Flair became the new Smackdown women’s champion at Summerslam. It was the only title alteration that happened from the blue brand. For now, Carmella should challenge the new champion in a title match. She does have a contractual rematch in her pocket. It will be interesting to see when she is going to use it.
But Becky Lynch will be under the microscope after going ballistic at Summerslam. She could not bear the fact that Charlotte snatched the title away from her grasp within moments. So the attack towards Charlotte Flair seemed evident. Fans also cheered this sudden heel-turn from the popular superstar. The question remains whether it happened on a long-term basis or not. We should get an answer from Becky Lynch on the situation.
Daniel Bryan could not believe the fact that The Miz defeated him once again at Summerslam. He was fuming with anger stated that he did not make the comeback to lose to The Miz like this. So expect things to get heated up when the A-lister arrives in the ring. These two might also continue their feud until the Hell in a Cell PPV.
The New Day lost their title opportunity as the Bludgeons disqualified the match. So the Smackdown GM handed them over another championship shot. The Bludgeons retained their title via disqualification. So, tonight they have to defend the championships in No Disqualifications affair.
Meanwhile, Randy Orton might continue to hunt down Jeff Hardy. They are all set to deliver a Hell in a Cell match in the next PPV event, as per the current updates. However, tonight they will deliver the first singles contest ever since Orton returned at Extreme Rules. It will be interesting to see whether Hardy can seek payback to The Viper.
