Sonya Deville slapped Dana Brooke, backstage before coming out on SmackDown. She scrapped the Hair vs Hair match at SummerSlam with Mandy Rose. Rather she announced a No-DQ match where the loser will leave WWE before exiting the ring.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match took place on SmackDown between Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles. Hardy was dealing with a hurt knee during the entire match. Styles punished him with the Calf Crusher and went for the Styles Clash. Hardy’s knee brace hit him in the face as Hardy delivered the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb to pick up the win and become the new Intercontinental Champion.

Bray Wyatt hosted an episode of Firefly Funhouse in the main event segment of SmackDown. Braun Strowman suddenly attacked him from the back, mercilessly. Wyatt became unconscious at one point as the WWE officials called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. But suddenly the vehicle stopped and The Fiend came out of it. He stuck his tongue out and laughed at the camera before the show went off the air.
