Smackdown opened up this week with Bray Wyatt’s’ promo and justifiably so as this week was a Halloween special. Bray claimed that he now owns the soul of the Undertaker and Kane. Kane’s mask was in his hand. And he also challenged three unlucky souls to face his three monsters i.e. Luke Harper, Brawn Stroman and Eric Rowan. Now which superstars will be crazy enough to face The Eater of the World and his company after what he did to the Undertaker and Kane from this Halloween special edition from Phoenix, Arizona.
Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens
Roman tried to cut a promo from the squared circle by telling that he had that one dream of gaining the WWE title since day one and now just one man is standing between him and the title, Seth Rollins. But was interrupted by Kevin Owens. The arrogant said that Roman caused him the No.1 contender spot by getting a fluke victory on RAW. Reigns invited Owens for a match which Owens accepted and we headed towards in ring action.
Kevin Owens tried to bring the fight to the Big Dog initially but got countered and tried to escape from the ring only to have Reigns running him down. KO was successful though in retreating but not before he got a superman punch that sent him toggling to outside from the top turnbuckle. Roman got the victory by count out.
Backstage Dean Ambrose confirmed that he is taking the challenge made by the Wyatts and waiting to see who is going to be his partners though he is having doubts if anyone would show up in his corner later the night.
Lucha Dragons won Four-way tag team terror
This was a hard-hitting tag match that saw Bubba and D-von chasing Barrett and Celtic Warrior on the ramp. With two of the teams out of action, the Lucha Dragons took full advantage with Kalisto hitting the Salida del Sol on Viktor to pick up the win. Special mention needs here, that the New Day was present in the commentary table with unicorn costumes. These New Day had taken the entertainment into a whole new level, I must say.
Ambrose got a partner as Cesaro came to him who was dressed like a badass.
The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler (Trick or Treat Street Fight)
This match was a pure fun element for us as these two participants were hammering each other with the Halloween elements present around the ring. Miz started to take advantage of the injured leg of Ziggler by locking the figure four, but the opportunist Ziggler rolled up his opponent for the victory. Post match Ziggler was still hobbling from his injury as Tyler Breeze along with Summer came into the ring to make a vicious assault to the show-off.
Paige vs. Natalya
The Queen of Hearts gets a chance to take a revenge on the main suspect of the attack on her two weeks before on Smackdown. But Paige dominated the match from the get-go. Nattie started to get back on the match only to be interrupted by team BAD mocking her and her search for the attacker which allowed Paige to hit the Rampaige picking up the win.
Alberto Del Rio vs. R-Truth
The surprise alliance between Zeb and Alberto continues on Smackdown as they declared themselves the first citizens of the country called Mex-America. They even highlighted the US championship as the Mex-American championship. Inside the ring, he picked up an easy win defeating R-truth with a vicious looking foot stomp from the top.
Ambrose, Cesaro and Ryback took the “face the fear” challenge against the Wyatts
This was a fun match too, where the Wyatt family was in control from the early going until Cesaro was tagged in and created some fireworks with a flurry of uppercuts. This man is a thing of beauty inside the ring I must say. But that momentum did not continue much as Bray Wyatt interfered with the referee distracted and Cesaro ended up in a big right hand from the new face of Fear. Luke Harper hit a clothesline to pick up the victory as we again headed to “Follow the Buzzards” to end the show.
