ToggleAfter a long wait, Roman Reigns will finally make his way back to WWE TV, next week during the May 12 episode of Friday Night Smackdown. This will mark his first appearance since the night after Wrestlemania 39 on Raw. Back at ‘Mania, he pulled off a polarizing victory over Cody Rhodes in the main event to retain his undisputed WWE universal championship.
Next week’s SmackDown will also be the first episode with the newly drafted roster members and the brand split rules intact, unlike this week’s episode where both Raw and Smackdown Superstars made appearances from San Juan in Puerto Rico. It makes sense for Roman Reigns to join the show and lead the roster as the undisputed champion as he was the first pick of the blue brand.

Roman Reigns appearing at Night of Champions
Just a day ago, WWE started advertising Roman Reigns for Night of Champions 2023 who is exclusive to the SmackDown brand. Hence, we could assume that he would start building toward his appearance at the PLE. Given his confirmation at the upcoming premium live event, WWE should also give a hint about who the next challenger for the undisputed title could be, next Friday.
Revealed: Roman Reigns’ Next Three Opponents Following Return On Smackdown
Update on Roman Reigns’ next opponent for the undisputed title
Going by the earlier report by Xero News, Roman Reigns’ next feud is scheduled to be against AJ Styles who returned during Draft Night One from an injury alongside The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & “Michin” Mia Yim). As a unit, they were also drafted to SmackDown, and right away, the faction made a big statement by laying out The Viking Raiders and Valhalla.
However, Ringside News noticed the rumor that AJ Styles was possibly going to face Roman Reigns, next for his titles at the Saudi Arabia PLE and they wiped out the reports. The reliable source was told by a tenured member of the WWE writing team that Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles is “not even close to an accurate guess” for Night of Champions.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabia show isn’t the only event that will be graced by Roman Reigns’ attendance. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is also being advertised for July’s Money in the Bank PLE slated to emanate from the O2 Arena in London, England.
