Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names present in the WWE locker room who usually gets to compete in big matches at WrestleMania. Being one of the mainstream talents, she brings immense value to the company without a doubt. With WrestleMania emanating from Hollywood, California, in her hometown, it’s almost certain that WWE will again book her in a mega match.
That being said that it’s safe to say The Baddest Woman on the Planet is gearing up for another big title match at the show of shows, and this time around she might leave the event as a champion, for the first time ever. Also, for the very first time, Ronda Rousey will also be gunning for the women’s tag team championships.

In recent weeks on WWE RAW, Lita, and Becky Lynch have been involved in a feud with DAMAGE CTRL over the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. In the end, a match was booked for the February 27 episode of Monday Night Raw and not WrestleMania. WWE Universe certainly thought that this storyline should be carried forward into the Show of Shows but as reported earlier, WWE already has plans for those titles at WrestleMania.

Ronda Rousey going after women’s tag team championships
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE’s original WrestleMania plan is still intact and that’s to have Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler going after for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Moving a step further, the source also noted that plans were also in place for them to emerge as the winners of those titles. While nothing was confirmed, DAMAGE CTRL should be their opponents.
This itself creates an interesting situation because it could mean that DAMAGE CTRL may end up competing on both nights of WrestleMania 39. For the time being, a huge six-woman tag team match with Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus vs. Damage CTRL is being speculated for the show. Also, Ronda Rousey should be involved in another match against them, the other night.
The women’s tag title has long been held by IYO SKY and Dakota Kai of the DAMAGE CTRL faction. Before putting the belts on the line against Becky Lynch and Lita, the two didn’t have title defenses for a long gap mainly owing to Dakota Kai’s injury. For many fans, the tag titles have lost relevance, and putting those belts on Ronda Rousey could be a significant option to bring back prestige into those. We will have to wait and see how things transpire on the road to WrestleMania.
