WWE Smackdown currently has one top babyface superstar under their banner in the form of Bobby Lashley. The 2-time former WWE Champion was a big inclusion to the blue brand during the 2023 Draft and he’s expected to play a big role in the main event scene. For the past few weeks though, he’s absent from the WWE programming but that’s going to change.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Bobby Lashley is advertised locally for this week’s WWE Smackdown which is a possible spoiler regarding the former champion’s return. However, he isn’t being advertised in any national commercials which could be a tease that WWE wants to keep this return as a surprise,
“Bobby Lashley hasn’t wrestled since the World Heavyweight Title tournament, but is advertised locally for Friday’s WWE Smackdown.”

The All-Mighty was last seen during the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. In the semi-final match, he lost to AJ Styles and missed a shot to go to Saudi Arabia for the World Heavyweight Championship. He wasn’t injured but the short hiatus was likely due to WWE’s willingness to protect her strong status. There’s no update on what the creative team has planned for his return, at this point.

Big Main Event scheduled for June 16 Smackdown?
Meanwhile, insider source BWE noted behind their private Twitter account that there are some big plans in place for this week’s WWE SmackDown. It appears that they will have a big main event as well.

With Bobby Lashley returning to the scene, we expect him to be involved in the big match that’s yet to be announced. A number of announcements have already been made for the latest upcoming episode of WWE Smackdown, however. A gauntlet match will be there to determine the new challengers for the undisputed tag team titles.
