This week’s Smackdown was taped on Tuesday from Miami, Florida. The results are given courtesy sportskeeda.com.
The show starts with an advertisement that a United States championship match will take place tonight. It’s quite odd but interesting to see an impromptu US championship match considering that Titus O’Neil still chasing Rusev for the championship.
Nonetheless, a Fatal-4-way match took place to determine a number one contender for the US championship among Cesaro, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Apollo Crews. Cesaro wins the match after a terrific encounter. After the match, he is being punished by Sheamus in a brutal assault.
In the midst of all this Rusev comes out to the ring and demands that he wants to start the championship match right there. With less than a hundred percent Cesaro lost the bout against Rusev but not before putting up a good fight.
The NXT roster exported another in-ring competitor to the main roster in the name of Billie Kay and she had a match against Dana Brooke. The Australian billing lost easily against Charlotte’s protégé.
The Miz was back with his Miz Tv after a short hiatus with special guest Dean Ambrose. The confrontation reached a limit which caused a brawl. Ambrose sent the Miz packed to the locker room which set the main event for Smackdown between the two.
The Wyatt Family was up next to cut an eerie promo. Aftermath, Strowman, and Rowan destroyed two local wrestlers, just like that.
As for a filler feud in Smackdown, Sasha Banks renewed her rivalry against Summer Rae and defeated her, as expected. They had a short feud before Sasha got sidelined after Wrestlemania.
In the main event of Smackdown, the WWE champion Dean Ambrose knocked off the Intercontinental champion, The Miz in a non-title match.
After the taping got over, a dark match was held between the team of Ambrose, Cesaro and Sami Zayn and The Wyatt Family. As per the rule of a dark match, the babyfaces won to send the crowd happy. Here are some pictures of the segment:
