SmackDown Superstar Zelina Vega has been a huge fan of both Lita and Trish Stratus, growing up. The Legado del Fantasma member has also claimed that the innovator of Stratusfaction has indeed played a major part in her journey to become a WWE Superstar.
Speaking on an episode on Anna Faris is Unqualified, she discussed Trish Stratus’ influence on the early part of her life. The SmackDown roster member also remembered her first meeting with the Hall of Famer. Apparently, she hated the WWE Legend, growing up. But that didn’t stop her to pass on the good vibes reply to which, she replied with a “thank you.”
“When I met Trish Stratus, [she] was one of the people that influenced me a lot when I decided to do this. When I met her, for some reason, the first thing — because I was so nervous — the first thing I said was, ‘Oh my God, I hated you growing up,’ and she’s like, ‘Oh, thank you.’”

Zelina Vega acknowledged how the statement of hating Trish Stratus may sound weird to some of the fans. However, she went on to explain how it was meant to be a praising statement,
“That interaction, to normal people, made absolutely no sense at all. But for us, it just made perfect sense. It was just such a compliment to her because I was like, ‘Man, you really got me to hate you because I loved Lita so much, and you just found ways to make me hate you.’”
Trish Stratus originally retired from in-ring competition in the year 2006 but she continued to make sporadic appearances. She was last seen in a singles contest against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019. In that match, the veteran ended up tapping out to Flair’s Figure-Eight Submission in her hometown of Toronto.
