Sheamus interrupted and also opted for his name to be there for the Battle Royal. While Pearce booked them into the melee, he also ended up booking Knight vs. Sheamus for next week’s WWE SmackDown. Previously, the stipulation suggested that the winner of this match will head into the Battle Royal but now both the men have been declared as the match participants.
As of this writing, Sheamus and LA Knight are the first two competitors announced for the first-ever Summerslam Battle Royal, this year. The full list of participants is expected to be announced on this upcoming episode of Raw. There’s no update on the prize for the winner of the match.

WWE Smackdown: Rey Mysterio possibly suffers legit injury
Coming out of WWE Smackdown, another big news is an injury situation where the legendary Rey Mysterio could be out of action for weeks to follow. On last night’s show, Santos Escobar defeated Rey Mysterio via Doctor’s Stoppage to become the Number-One Contender for the United States Championship.
It was noted by the commentators during the match that Rey got hurt after he was met with a Suicide Dive by Escobar and his head hit hard on the floor. The doctor checked on Rey and determined that the WWE Hall of Famer can’t continue. As a result, Escobar received a bye to the United States Title shot.

WRKD Wrestling tweeted to inform that Rey Mysterio wasn’t really injured and that it was a kayfabe situation, “For those concerned, Rey Mysterio’s injury on #SmackDown is a storyline.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also initially reported the same kayfabe concept but later during the post WWE Smackdown report, he noted receiving “conflicting information” regarding the injury. While further details are yet to arrive, we believe that the legend is dealing with a legit head injury.
