As Wrestlemania 38 is approaching closer, it appears that he finally could break through the glass ceiling.
Recent reports suggested that officials reportedly see Ricochet as a top babyface Superstar on WWE SmackDown brand. Over on the latest bygone episode of the show, Ricochet confronted WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn to set up a title match on this coming episode. It should be noted that Ricochet also received a singles win over former WWE Champion, Sheamus, a couple of weeks ago.

The source informs that the creative team considers him as one of the top babyfaces on WWE Smackdown brand,
“We have had some readers ask why Ricochet got such a big push last week. There’s a very good explanation for that. Currently, he’s slated as the number two singles babyface for the entire Smackdown brand internally, behind only Drew McIntyre. Before anyone asks, New Day, as well as Shinsuke Nakamura, are all listed as part of tag teams internally.”

Ricochet has internally been listed as the number-two singles babyface Superstar on WWE SmackDown since names like Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Shinsuke Nakamura are listed as tag team competitors. Nakamura teams with Boogs while Drew McIntyre is the number-one babyface name on the blue brand.
No update has been given by Mike whether Ricochet’s push will continue through this Friday or not. A title match with Sami Zayn is scheduled to take place on the show over the Intercontinental Title. Ricochet could become the next champion but at this point, Zayn is expected to defend against Jackass star Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38.
