Wrestlemania 39, the biggest event of the year in WWE took place this past weekend and now it’s time for WWE Smackdown to take us through the post-Mania season. Being such a grand show, fans are definitely having a tough time getting over the grandeur of the Show of Shows. But they’ll eventually be taken to the road to Backlash 2023 set to emanate within four weeks from now.
There are a lot of worries among the fans regarding Vince McMahon’s return to the creative team which affected things on Raw after Mania. Time will tell whether things will go in the same direction on the very first episode of WWE Smackdown after Wrestlemania 39. Whoever will be in charge of the creative, will be taking forward The Bloodline saga via a big main event match.

All the Bloodline members were featured in the main events of Wrestlemania 39 Night One and Two. Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the actual main event of the show while on Night One, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn beat the Usos in the main event to become new undisputed tag team champions.

Sami Zayn vs. Jey Uso announced on WWE Smackdown
The feud is far from over and it will continue this week on WWE SmackDown. As announced by the WWE, one-half of the tag team champions, Sami Zayn will compete against Jey Uso in a singles competition,
“One half of the NEW Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions @SamiZayn goes one-on-one with Jey @WWEUsos tomorrow night on #SmackDown!”
Due to Jey and Sami’s long-time saga, this match is a long-time coming between these two superstars. The friend-turned-foe duos have already gone through a lot of drama in the recent past. Jey Uso infamously walked out on the Bloodline after Zayn was attacked by them at Royal Rumble. But then he came back to stab Zayn in the back and reunited with The Bloodline to shock everyone.
As we head to Backlash 2023, this saga will continue to unfold, probably to set up some sort of tag team match in the main event of the next WWE PLE in May. Apart from this segment, it has also been confirmed that the new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley will also be on board for the show.
