WWE Smackdown Live was hosted last night at the SSE Hydro in the Glasgow, Scotland. Since WWE is traveling overseas in the United Kingdom, both Raw & Smackdown were taped at the same venue. The night was already hyped with a huge title match between the Smackdown Women’s champion, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss.
But, we were also eager to hear from both Ambrose and Styles after the blockbuster announcement made by Shane McMahon during the Talking Smack show. He officially made the main event for the TLC PPV just after Dean Ambrose became the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight champion. They will feature in a TLC match at the Smackdown’s exclusive PPV.
Now, AJ Styles was supposed to be furious with the announcement since even before the TLC PPV, he needs to co-exist with Dean Ambrose for the Survivor Series PPV. So, he kicked off the show from Glasgow and the crowd welcomed him with a positive reaction. He was in no mood for the crowd’s cheer and said the Lunatic Fringe cheated last week to get another title shot at TLC. However, before that, they have Survivor Series and will have to go as Team Styles. All the members of team Smackdown came down the ramp as Shane McMahon announced a huge tag team main event match for the evening.
The match featured Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper against Dean Ambrose, Kane & James Ellsworth. AJ Styles was present alongside the Smackdown commentary team. The fight continued to take place outside the ring as Kane & Harper went brawling on the ramp. The crowd was rooting for James Ellsworth and hence he got a hot tag from Ambrose against Wyatt. As he was going for the “No Chin Music” Wyatt caught him and hit with Sister Abigail to pick up the win.
