With Drew McIntyre still on WWE Smackdown, it’s easy to assume for the fans that he’s the obvious top babyface of the roster. However, over the past couple of years, he’s been degraded from his previously protected status and his spot has now been given to somebody else.
According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, Bray Wyatt is currently internally listed as the number-one babyface on the SmackDown roster. Here’s what The Observer noted about Bray while discussing the next challenger for Roman Reigns during the post-Royal Rumble 2023 season,
“I don’t think so. It’s possible. Bray is considered the number one babyface on SmackDown. He is the biggest-slotted star that Roman has not worked with, but I also don’t know.
Roman also knows that people who work with Bray always look a lot worse than going in.”

Bray Wyatt has returned to the WWE at Extreme Rules 2022 and since then, she’s also been a member of the WWE Smackdown roster. His first stint with the company ended with his release in July 2021. This came after his huge Wrestlemania 37 loss in April 2021.

Wyatt returned to WWE Smackdown in 2022 Fall
Many of the characters from the potential Wyatt 6 faction have been seen on TV except for The Fiend. During an appearance on Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin, the WWE Smackdown Superstar said that he can’t see himself donning the Hawaiian shirt out of respect for the late Brodie Lee. Hence, The Fiend character has truly been gone from the scenario.
The Eater of the World also noted how Alexa Bliss is the final “happy piece” of “The Fiend” character. Rather, the ongoing shtick feels more organic for him. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was also pointed out as a creative genius.
Since his return in October 2022, Wyatt has never competed on WWE Smackdown but he returned to action on TV via a Pitch Black match against LA Knight at the Royal Rumble premium live event on January 28. This was Wyatt’s first televised match since Wrestlemania 37.
However, Wyatt did participate in a short match against Jinder Mahal during a Madison Square Garden event as part of WWE’s Holiday Tour in December 2022 but that was an untelevised house show.
