ToggleBecky Lynch has entered a dream feud against Trish Stratus for the past several weeks which has produced a mega match. The two-generational superstars have participated in this dream match at Night of Champions. If reports are to go by then this PLE night won’t be the only time that the two will lock horns in a mega affair but rather the program to go forward through this summer.
In an update, Fightful reports that the feud will continue as per WWE’s original plans and hence is supposed to continue after Night of Champions. When the news around this feud was broken, earlier this year, it was reported WWE intended to conduct a match between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus at Summerslam 2023 and that plan is still intact.
Trish – Becky story to have fallouts at Money in the Bank?
Before the 2023 Summerslam, WWE will host another international PLE in the form of WWE Money in the Bank on July 1 at the O2 Arena in London, England. WWE’s first-time outing for a MITB event outside of the United States might also force the company to book a legend like Trish into the card or a rematch between the two.
The Becky Lynch – Trish Stratus saga in the WWE
The storyline featuring these two was originally kicked off on the April 10 episode of Monday Night Raw when Trish Stratus (proxying for Lita who was attacked before the match) and Becky Lynch lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Raquel Rodriguez. After the match, the unthinkable happened as Trish attacked her tag team partner.
Thus, for the first time since 2005, we have seen the mighty Trish become a villain on TV. Not only, the WWE Hall of Famer took Becky Lynch out of commission but she has also explained the reason for her actions as she has never received her due credit for her contributions to Women’s Wrestling. Names like Lynch admittedly never appreciated her for blazing the trail.
As Becky Lynch continued to remain absent from WWE programming, Trish took shots at her on TV as well as on social media. Then the former longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion returned on the May 7 episode of Raw which was her first appearance since being attacked by Trish. Moving on to the May 14 episode, she challenged Trish to a match at WWE Night of Champions. The match wasn’t confirmed by WWE on the spot, but rather a contract signing was announced for it to make it official, indirectly.
