WWE Raw Superstar Lana hoped to receive a solid end to 2020 the heavy way she was featured on TV. She received a PPV match at TLC with the reigning Women’s Champion as her partner. While she was hoping to win the first title of her WWE career, it ended up to be a heartbreak for her. An injury ruined the day for her as she had to miss the event.
Previously it was thought to be a scripted angle just to take her out of the TLC PPV. But, Lana might be legitimately injured if her Instagram account is any indication. She wished fans a Happy New Year along with two photos of her wearing braces on her arm and leg.
“Pi** off 2020. #happynewyear everyone,” the caption of the Instagram post mentioned.

Lana and Asuka were the number-one contenders to face the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at the WWE TLC pay-per-view event, which took place on December 20th. But the Ravishing Russian was pulled out of the match after she was viciously attacked by Baszler and Jax on the go-home episode of RAW for the pay-per-view.

She was quickly taken into a local medical facility to be addressed by the doctors. It was later noted by the Raw commentators that Lana suffered an MCL injury to her left knee and a non-displaced radial head fracture on her left elbow as Jax and Baszler intentionally targeted those two parts of her body.
Charlotte Flair returned at TLC to replace the injured superstar. She teamed with Asuka as the duo captured the Women’s Tag Team titles from Jax and Baszler. The injury was planned to make way for Flair to be back on TV. Regarding Lana’s status, PWInsider reported that the word coming out of RAW was that she is expected to be off TV for as long as 3-4 weeks.
Lana was genuinely heartbroken after getting robbed of the championship opportunity of a lifetime. But at the same time, she wiped out any theory that stated that WWE was punishing her for Rusev’s AEW arrival,
“For me, to be having a storyline where I’m competing in the ring fighting, that is something I am very, very grateful for. There have been a lot of ups and downs in this story that have been hard pills to swallow, but I’ve been here for seven years and I have survived this business, all the steamrolls, and all the different crazy curve balls they have thrown here [WWE].” (As stated to the New York Post – Quotes courtesy Wrestling Inc)
