AEW made a shocking announcement this past Monday night to bring back one of the most popular old-gimmicked PPV from pro-wrestling history.
They confirmed that a nine-day event will be hosted in 2020 mid-January named Bash at the Beach. It will be comprised of two episodes of AEW Dynamite and Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea: Part Deux wrestling cruise.

This took most of the hardcore wrestling fans by shock as Bash at the Beach has always been a WCW property. The company owned by Eric Bischoff started this tradition back in the 90s which became extremely popular among the fans.

Later, Vince McMahon swallowed WCW’s property at the beginning of this decade and also received the copyrights to host this show.
So, the question roaming around everyone’s mind was, how did Tony Khan manage to get the trademarks of hosting this PPV show.
The current rumors suggest that AEW may be taken to court by WWE over this issue, really soon.
Even Cody Rhodes took his social media handle that he may soon land up in court in the near future. He also posted a “Welcome to Pettyville” GIF besides predicting it.
As explained in an interview with Wrestling Inc. this week, Tony Khan stated that there has not been any problem to get the copyrights for Bash at the Beach.

“Cody went on a trademark binge one night and he texted me, ‘Conrad and I were up all night trademarking stuff.’ One of the things that came out of it was Bash at the Beach.
So, when he said that we thought of a way to use it… and the unique idea was to go to Miami in January,” said Khan.
“We’ll be doing a two-part Bash of the Beach on Dynamite… that special will also include the matches from Chris Jericho’s cruise that week.”
But WWE may be secretly preparing to go into a legal war against AEW over this Bash at the Beach issue. They are not likely to let go of this matter which may lead to an embarrassment to the new foundation.
For those who don’t know, Bash at the Beach was first hosted back in 1994 featuring a main event between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. The event continued until 2000 when Vince McMahon bought WCW.
Later, WWE hosted a PPV named the Great American Bash a few times but it never made it to a regular schedule.
