WWE Summerslam 2017 Full Results With Videos: August 20th, 2017 1

The 30th annual Summerslam is now in the history books of the WWE. The WWE Universe witnessed another epic edition of the event from the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York. Considering the stacked match card, the event was a bigger one with several impactful moments. Here are the highlights of the night.

Akira Tozawa vs. Neville (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)
It was quite a physical affair at the Summerslam kick-off show between these two Cruiserweights. The end witnessed a shocking title change as Neville avoided a senton from Tozawa and hit a Red Arrow to get back his title.

Alexa Bliss vs Sasha Banks (Raw Women’s Championship)
Sasha Banks got over the curse of Brooklyn on the third year by defeating Alexa Bliss. She was able to kick out of the Twisted Bliss and lock in her own Bank Statement to force Bliss, tap-out. The Boss became a 4-time women’s champion by virtue of this win.

Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (Raw tag team Championship)
In an exciting contest, Sheamus and Cesaro remained in full control in the beginning. Ambrose came back with a Lunatic Lariot to Cesaro. Rollins provided the back up with a kick to Sheamus while Ambrose connected with the Dirty Deeds to become the new Raw tag team champions.

The New Day vs. The Usos (Smackdown tag team Championship)
This was another shocking title changes at the kick-off show. The Usos took out Big E, out of action and targeted Xavier Woods. Despite the resistance, the number game caught up Woods as he was pinned. The Usos won back the tag team titles.

Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt
The Demon King returned big time at Summerslam. Wyatt tried to counter-attack the offensive moves of Balor but he was caught in two sling blades from Balor. He was hit by the Coup De Grace off the top rope to get pinned by Balor at Summerslam.

John Cena vs. Baron Corbin
The Lone Wolf got buried by John Cena, once again at Summerslam. He tried to overcome the fired up crowd against him. Cena recovered from a Deep-Six and rolled with his pendant moves. Then he hit the Attitude Adjustment on Corbin to pick up a comprehensive win.

Big Show vs. Big Cass (Enzo Amore locked inside shark cage)
Enzo Amore tried to provide the backup to Big Show by escaping the shark cage, at one point. But, he ran into a straight big boot from Cass. The seven-footer then hit two more big boots to Big Show. He picked up the pinfall win after connecting with an Empire Elbow.

Randy Orton vs. Rusev
Rusev attacked Orton from behind before the start of the match. Orton was out cold as the referee checked him. Just when the bell was rung, he hit an RKO on Rusev to pick up the win in a just a mere seconds of time.

Naomi vs. Natalya (Smackdown Women’s Championship)
We witnessed yet another title changing hands in this contest as Naomi was not in full swing. She missed a top rope moon-sault which gave the upper hand to her opponent. Nattie locked in the sharpshooter on Naomi to make her tap out and win the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Summerslam.

AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens (US title match with Shane McMahon special guest referee)
Shane McMahon took a couple of bumps into this match creating frictions between him and the two competitors. In the end, Owens failed to capitalize with the pop-up powerbomb which created the distraction. It allows Styles to hit the Styles Clash on Owens to retain the US title.

Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE Championship)
The championship reign of the modern-day Maharaja continued even after Summerslam as he retained by virtue of the Singh Brothers, again. Nakamura was looking for the finish with his pendant move when the Singh Brothers provided the distraction allowing Mahal to connect with the Khallas move. This earned him the pinfall victory against Nakamura.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman (WWE Universal Championship)
Just after the start of the match, Lesnar had a physical altercation with Braun Strowman where the latter one put him through the announce table. Lesnar was taken out on a stretcher by the EMTs. However, he came back with a vengeance putting everyone down with suplexes. Reigns tried to put a resist by hitting with a spear but failed. The champion caught him with an F-5 to get the win and retain his title.
