WWE Summerslam 2017: Jinder Mahal Vs Shinsuke Nakamura WWE Championship – Match Result

This marked the first time that an Indian wrestler competed in a WWE championship match at Summerslam. Jinder Mahal created history by walking into the biggest event of the summer with the title around his waist. He had to deal with the most powerful hitter in the WWE, right now, Shinsuke Nakamura.

People were quite curious about this match considering that they have quite the opposite personas. Plus, this is a first-time ever matchup that will be taking place in a PPV like Summerslam.

Shinsuke Nakamura made his way first into the match. It was expected that he would a get a grand entrance since it’s his return to his debut city of Brooklyn, New York. So, he brought Lee England Jr. alongside him for a special violin performance. Jinder Mahal followed him with his big entrance, going forward as we went into the match.

The crowd, as backing up Nakamura from the get going with thunderous Nakamura chants filling up the arena. He started the match on a quick note with some kicks and elbow drops to Mahal. The Singh Brothers distracted Nakamura to give a sigh of relief for Mahal.

Nakamura caught Mahal with the running knee and hooked the leg, but Mahal put his foots on the rope to break the pinfall. The champion came back with a knee to the face to Nakamura.

The challenger retaliated with another kick to Mahal. This time, The Singh Brothers created another distraction by getting on the ring apron. Nakamura neutralised them by shoving off the ring. But, this allowed Jinder Mahal to connect with the Cobra Clutch to pin Nakamura and walk out Summerslam with the WWE Championship.
