WWE Summerslam 2017: Raw & Smackdown Tag Team Championship - Match Results 1

Both the tag team championships from Raw and Smackdown were on the line at the Summerslam PPV. On the flagship show of Raw, we had witnessed a partial reunion of the Shield brethren, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollin in the last edition. It was a pleasant surprise for the fans as they expected it to happen for a long time now.

The moment just got bigger with Kurt Angle giving them the opportunity to challenge the reigning Raw tag team champions for their title at Summerslam. The crowd gave a thunderous reaction to Rollins and Ambrose, as the later started things off against Cesaro.

After digesting brutal punishments from Cesaro for a while, Ambrose came back with a Lunatic Lariot. Ambrose floored everyone jumping off the top rope. Cesaro tried to lock in the sharpshooter which was somehow broken by Ambrose. Sheamus got himself tagged in, as Rollins provided back up to Ambrose. He neutralised Cesaro and connected with a knee to Sheamus. It allowed Ambrose to hit the Dirty Deeds to get the win and become new Raw tag team champions at Summerslam.

From Smackdown, two best tag teams present in the WWE today, i.e. The New Day and The Usos squared off for the tag team titles. These two teams gave us yet another classic match. So, it was quite unfortunate to witness it at the kickoff show rather than the main show.

Quite expectedly, it turned out to be an exciting match between the two bitter rivals from Smackdown. The Usos were in the earlier control of the match until Big E backfired with some powerful moves, but he was cut short with a super kick.

Xavier Woods tried to come back with some offensive moves of his own, but that was not enough to put away the Usos who is on a roll, right now. As a result, they walked out as the new Smackdown tag team champions.
