ToggleSummerslam 2023 will be going down at Detroit, Michigan’s Ford Field on August 5th which is being touted as the biggest event of the summer. Being WWE’s second-biggest pay-per-view on the schedule, the event always drags a lot of attention on itself. While a galore of stars is expected to occur on that evening, the event has already started to make history months before the builds begin.
Summerslam 2023 will be a stadium show
For the third straight year in a row, WWE will hold its biggest summer spectacle from an outdoor venue which is a tremendous achievement, in itself. Summerslam 2023: Roman Reigns vs. Conor McGregor Mega Match at WWE PLE?
Starting from April 14th, Summerslam 2023 ticket sales numbers are looking historic. Summerslam 2023 experiencing fast sales of tickets doesn’t appear to be a surprise given that this is the premiere summertime event the company is hosting for nearly the past 35 years. The 2021 edition of SummerSlam was also sold out at a similarly speedy pace from the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It was their first full-capacity stadium show in over a year with the blockbuster main event of John Cena vs. Roman Reigns.
No particular match of the superstar has been announced from WWE’s part for Summerslam 2023, as of this writing. While there’s no update available on any world title match, there are reports that a dream match between Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is planned for the show. WWE CEO Nick Khan noted in the lead-up to WrestleMania 39 that the company already had the card under construction in advance.
Detroit’s Ford Field was announced as the host venue of Summerslam 2023 back in February, alongside a brand new logo for the event to signify the location. WWE previously ran WrestleMania 23 at Ford Field in 2007. Even before that, Detroit served as home to WrestleMania III from a much larger venue – Pontiac Silverdome.
