Brock Lesnar may not hold that well-protected status in the WWE, anymore but that doesn’t remove his marquee status, at all. Whatever matches he performs are always treated as special. This does mean that his opponents are specifically chosen by the creative team and sometimes he also has a say in those matches. One such big match was said to be in the pipeline, this summer.
One big rumor is going around about Brock Lesnar, fueling up the speculations about a dream match, but that’s already been squashed. It was previously reported by WRKD Wrestling’s Twitter account that WWE has been considering Brock Lesnar vs. GUNTHER this summer. This is a dream match that fans want to see and WWE had reportedly kicked off that idea.

It wasn’t noted when this match might happen but the summer of 2023 seemed a possibility which is why many believed that Summerslam could be an appropriate place to host this match. However, in a follow-up update, it was mentioned that the contest isn’t happening, after all.
Ringside News reached out to confirm the report about a possible Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther match let alone a program for this summer. They were told by a tenured member of the WWE creative team, aware of the plans of The Beast Incarnate that, “it’s not Lesnar vs. Gunther.”
RSN was apparently told that “the writing team already knows SummerSlam” and that being said, “Lesnar not working with Gunther this summer.”

Summerslam 2023 opponent for Brock Lesnar will be disclosed, later
It was not confirmed to the source who WWE has lined up to face Brock Lesnar in 2023 summer, but it is not GUNTHER. So, we might have to wait until July/August to know it. At this point, he had kicked off a feud with Cody Rhodes which should produce a match at Backlash 2023.
Gunther made it clear during his appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show that Brock Lesnar is the one who is on top of his chart for a match. The Imperium leader thinks that an encounter between the two of them is a matter of time following their colossal confrontation during the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match,
“Brock is the one that has to happen at some point. I think I made him my personal biggest obstacle. The [Royal Rumble] was literally the first time I met him. [It was] brief, but that moment that we had in the Rumble was great because that was all I needed out of it. It was basically like a real-life confirmation that the audience is up for that. They want to see it.”
