Brock Lesnar is absent from the WWE programming since the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV event. He had yet another successful outing in a championship fixture.
Interestingly, the finishing segments of the match turned out to be quite controversial. But, the WWE official gave the benefit of doubt to the champion. By virtue of this, he is still the reigning champion.
Initially, we thought his next title defense will take place at the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV event.
But, Lesnar is in an extended hiatus. This should not come to an end until the Summerslam season arrives. So, there’s no way that he will put the Universal title on the line before the second biggest PPV event of the year in August.
Predictions are going on about his next possible opponent. Since Roman Reigns was the actual winner at Greatest Royal Rumble, he deserves another opportunity to the championship.
But, the fans will get frustrated if that happens again. They are in no mood to see Reigns dethroning the beast from his reign.
So, we can expect to receive a pleasant surprise from the creative team, this time around.
However, a fan favorite name might actually end up challenging the Conqueror. No, it’s not the Greatest Royal Rumble Winner, Braun Strowman.
As per the reports from both PWInsider.com and cagesideseats.com, Seth Rollins is the concerned name.
The current Intercontinental Champion is on the radar of the officials to be the next challenger for Lesnar. This man proved to be a benchmark performer on the flagship show ever since winning the IC title at Wrestlemania. Nobody deserves a prime title shot than him.
Going by the sources, it looks like that might come to a reality. The Architect has made the IC title prestigious by defending it on a weekly basis. His scheduled matches on each of the shows turned out to be the very best.
Furthermore, there’s no deficiency of fan support for a charismatic superstar who converted the flagship show into Monday Night Rollins.
So, the fans would get goosebumps if Seth Rollins actually gets a chance to secure the contender’s spot for the Universal Championship.
