This year’s cross-brand PPV, Survivor Series was a must watch for the fans with several dream matches in-store on the match card. Apart from the Champion vs Champion matches set to happen, there was another match set to take place between two of the most popular factions in the history of the WWE.
The Shield has always been considered as the greatest group by many of the fans, whereas, The New Day is the longest reigning tag team champions in the company history. No other group is more entertaining than the trio ever since the beginning. Hence, a matchup between these two factions is a dream contest for the fans.

The stakes were quite high with the contest considering The New Day turned out to be the reason why Shield had lost the tag team championships on Raw, two weeks ago. Hence, the Hounds of Justice had their sights set on The Unicorns.

This match kicked off the Survivor Series PPV night, as The New Day made their entrance representing Smackdown Live cutting a promo on their opponent, The Shield. The crowd cheered them but not as much as the pop that the representatives from Raw received. Dean Ambrose started the match against Kofi Kingston.

Big E was tagged in quickly into the match, who was able to put down Ambrose with a big spear on the ring apron. He received a near fall after this move. Ambrose tried to bounce back, but Big E prevailed until a hot tag was made to Seth Rollins.

After some offensive moves, Roman Reigns was also blind tagged into the match. Both The Shield boys sent Big E into the barricade to neutralise him from the contest. The big man tried to come back only to eat a Dirty Deeds. Kofi Kingston tried to connect with the kick only to get hit with a spear from Roman Reigns. The trio then followed it up with The Shield powerbomb to pick up the win.
