Tessa Blanchard is one of the most critically acclaimed female professional wrestling athletes present in the circuit. Due to her immense talent, fans often believed that could be heading to bigger leagues like WWE or AEW but unwanted controversies never allowed her to be a regular feature on TV or in small promotions.
For those who have forgotten, Tessa Blanchard used to be the first-ever women’s World Champion in Impact Wrestling after she beat Sami Callihan in an intergender match. She was enjoying a long tenure as the world champion until controversy started surrounding her and things only got worse for her since then.
WWE Raw Superstar Offered Dream Match To Legendary Divas Champion
Now, it appears that Tessa Blanchard could be heading for an in-ring return. Her return to the squared circle was announced in a tweet by Title Match Network during the recently bygone Canada Day.
“You know Hurricane Pro Wrestling isn’t playing around!” the tweet read. “Come see the return of Tessa Blanchard, streaming LIVE.”
Situated in Beaumont, Texas, Hurricane Pro Wrestling had been teasing a big announcement on social media before ultimately revealing that they have grabbed a former Impact Knockouts Champion for an appearance.
“Shocking the wrestling world is always a good thing,” HPW tweeted, followed by some hourglass emojis.
Tessa Blanchard to compete after more than one and a half year
As per the advertisements by the promotion, Tessa Blanchard is appearing in the front and center as she could likely be involved in the main event match although nothing has been listed. The poster also featured former Impact Wrestling Knockout Lady Frost, former WWE NXT star Steph De Lander fka Persia Pirotta, and former Ring of Honor star Miranda Alize.
A tweet by Hurricane Pro Wrestling revealed Frost would defend her HPW Women’s Title against De Lander and Danni Bee and hence none of these two can be a potential opponent for Tessa Blanchard. She’s also not getting included in the title match scheduled for the night.
If Tessa Blanchard competes on an upcoming night then this will be her first match since September of 2020, when she dropped the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship to Kylie Rae at a Warrior Wrestling’s Stadium series event. She then got involved with the relaunch of WOW Wrestling but eventually departed the company amid a fallout that made news around the spring of 2022.
