It’s time to get pumped up for the Indian pro-wrestling fans, as WWE is returning to the subcontinent, this year. It will mark the end of the much anticipated come back of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world since they have made Jinder Mahal the WWE Champion to represent our native land.
As announced in the WWE event listings for the upcoming months, we will witness two live events on December 7th and 8th of this year. It will be a Raw-exclusive house show featuring all the prime superstars from the flagship brand. The event will be hosted at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
The regular names from WWE Raw like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss and more are expected to join the show. They will promote the product more in our country.
It is not something new to us that Vince McMahon sees India as a huge market. That was the sole reason for making Jinder Mahal the champion, earlier this year. It increased the number of WWE followers in India as well as the number of subscribers for the WWE Network, as well.
It resulted in a stretched title run for the reigning champion, and now WWE is returning to the country with another treat. The fans around New Delhi will get to witness the power packed actions from the best pro-wrestlers in the WWE who stops at nothing to entertain the people.
The last time the company hosted a show was in January 2016 at the same venue for two consecutive nights. It was after 2002 that WWE returned to India for a tour. Apparently, they had earned quite a good profit from the shows which are the reason why they are returning within a two-year span.
During this tour, WWE superstars will also perform in UAE on December 6th at the Zayed Sports City Tennis Stadium. However, it is to be noted that Jinder Mahal might miss the show considering he performs only for Smackdown being a superstar from the blue brand. It will be quite strange if the Indian representative himself does not attend the show.
