Thanks to the collective group of female contestants in WWE that they have protected their division with great in ring skills which are no uneven match with the male contestants. The culture of the Divas division has transformed many ways now as compared to the attitude era, but one thing remained constant and that the constant revolution they bring in the division. And the revolution is in full force as of now. So here are the top 5 matches we have ever witnessed from these top class athletes.
Trish Stratus vs. Lita (Unforgiven 2006)
If there’s a term called “Perfect ending” in sports then this was it for Trish Stratus by ending her career in her own hometown of Toronto, Canada and winning the WWE women’s championship for one last time and that too by defeating her nemesis, Lita. When Trish announced that she would retire from in-ring action in her native Toronto, the most likely option was to book her against the long time foe and another Divas cornerstone Lita and the result was the greatest WWE women’s championship match of all time. The Toronto crowd gave a standing ovation to their favorite girl as Trish bowed one last time with the title she personified.
Aj Lee vs. Kaitlyn (Payback 2013)
What better way to bring a big fight feel and that too in the world famous All-State Arena in Chicago when two former best friends got extremely personal? Unlike some of the Divas matches, this one was far beyond from a win or loss. The kinetic energy was felt throughout the hard-hitting contest. Aj Lee made the powerhouse Diva Kaitlyn tap out to the black widow and went on to hold the title for a record 295 days thereafter.
Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte (Night of champions 2015)
The so-called Divas revolution started in full form as NXT Diva Charlotte finally put an end to the longest ever 301 days’ reign of Nikki Bella. But she had to earn every bit of it as the evil Bella put into some beautiful work and fight against Flair’s daughter. Despite Nikki’s try to neutralize the figure eight by hurting the knee of Charlotte, she made the Queen Bella tap out ending her reign.
Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon (Summerslam 2014)
This one was no technical classic but built up with pure hatred. As one rebel, Brie Bella stands against the power hungry boss Stephanie reminding us some old fashioned days. Two queens battled it out for the bragging rights. The outcome was even better, where her own flesh and blood Nikki Bella turned against her causing the match and shocking the world even more. But after that the twins managed to get on the same page and rule the divas division from thereon.
Trish Stratus vs. Lita (Raw 2004)
Again one classic was delivered by the two top most Diva of WWE. This was the first time when two of the WWE Diva was in the main event spot of RAW and boy did they deliver one? Despite the previous nose injury Trish had and the one Lita picked up with her neck during the match up, they managed to pull up the match as a sure shot classic.
