She eventually opted to make an exit from the WWE and shift her attention to focus on her family.

While speaking on The Sessions hosted by Renee Paquette, Nikki Bella remembered her time in WWE’s first-ever reality TV series. During the conversation, she reminded the fans that Total Divas almost beat The Kardashians and that proves how much success the show had actually racked.

However, there was a portion of the fans and critics who ended up criticizing the show as well as the star cast just because they were garnering attention from a wrestling outside stint. Nikki Bella mentioned how she wanted the industry to back them up for taking such a bold step and bringing more eyes to WWE television but they actually faced the totally opposite scenario,
“Honestly, Total Divas should have been praised even more, I felt, because what we were doing was we literally were at the point of almost beating the Kardashians in the ratings. We were shaking the world up and like, what a great time.
We could have had the industry behind us, but instead they used it to turn it against us. That was really shocking to me because I was like, ‘But wait, we’re making great changes for Women’s Wrestling. Why are you hating on it?’”

It should be noted that The Kardashians averaged 1.9 million total viewers which were just above the original Total Divas season starring Brie and Nikki Bella, Natalya, Eva Marie, Summer Rae, and more. It’s still uncertain why the cast was targeted by some of the pro wrestling fans but it’s a fact that things changed for good and WWE also found a gateway to the TV and movies industry from that point.
