WWE: Twitter Reactions From This Week’s Smackdown Live: December 26, 2017
Dec 27, 2017 at 4:28 PM
Smackdown was able to end the year 2017 on a decent note. However, it was way better in 2016 with a Wildcard Final edition. Daniel Bryan kicked off the night with a standing ovation from the crowd in Chicago.
Apart from the announcements regarding the matches, he had a fun segment with all the three tag teams who came out with championship goals in mind. The segment was quite entertaining, as an opener after which we received a good triple threat match.
It is to be noted that the Chicago crowd was on fire with ‘Rusev Day’ chants from the get-go. The creative team will definitely give some focus on this heel team after these thunderous reactions from the crowd.
However, for some unknown reasons, Benjamin and Gable picked up the win and emerge as the contenders with fewer reactions from the audience.
Not a bad triple threat match at all. Thankfully they did away with that bizarre WWE rule where it’s a multi-team match, but only two wrestlers can be in the ring at once. #RusevDay is read hot, which makes it a head scratcher as to why they didn’t just go with them. #SDLive

The women’s division matchup was quick and straightforward with Ruby Riott picking up the predictable win to keep up her momentum.
However, Natalya was back with her antics to confuse the crowd, even more. It was not understandable why she decided to oppose the Riott Squad who was beating down the babyfaces, Charlotte Flair and Naomi.
Plus, no fallout was addressed of her announcement from Clash of Champions, as well.
Ruby Riott and Naomi had a quick, inoffensive match. The Riott Squad was sent packing by a group of women led by the seemingly face Natalya, back to her creepy smiling ways. Is there anyone that acts less human than she does on the roster? #SDLive

The two matchups that got contested in the first round of US title tournament turned out to be quite good. Roode picked up the win to stay relevant in the Smackdown locker room, for now. In the second match, there was no doubt that Jinder will pick up the win. With him being away from WWE title picture, he might be going after the US title, going forward.
Ok match with Mahal and Dillinger, but the finish was never in doubt. It doesn’t seem like they had any plan for Dillinger upon his debut and he’s just been floating on the roster since his call-up. #SDLive

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn managed to stay under the spotlight while ending the year 2017 because of Daniel Bryan, once again. Following this pinfall win, it is certain that he will get a title opportunity against AJ Styles.
Also, with the GM handing over multiple opportunity to the heels, it is certain that Shane McMahon will lose his cool shortly and go all-out against Bryan.
Overall, a good effort from #SDLive. The crowd was red hot for the whole show. There are some good things happening on #SDLive right now. It’s worth going out of your way to be a weekly viewer.
