WWE/UFC News: Cris Cyborg Wanted A Match Against Ronda Rousey 1

Previously, it was reported that the UFC featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg wanted to compete in the WWE. Before the Summerslam PPV, she had quite a few altercations with Becky Lynch to have a match at the dual brand PPV. But, the two promotions might not have come to an agreement that did not let the match happen.

Quite interestingly, Cyborg took a shot at Ronda Rousey, indirectly for that. In a tweet on her official account, she stated that apparently, a predecessor of her in the UFC promotion does not want her to compete in the squared circle before her. She was talking about the woman who once held an undefeated streak of her own in MMA fights.

Recently, during an interview with MMA Fighting, the current featherweight champion expressed her desire to compete in a match against Ronda Rousey. Considering that the latter one might not return to the Octagon, ever, she even intended to debut in the WWE to have that dream match.

Ever since Ronda has left the MMA business, it was taken over by Cyborg as she dominated the scene. So, this is going to be quite an interesting fight, for sure. If WWE can organize the fight in the near future, then it would be helpful for them to earn some mainstream attention. Check out the quotes from Cyborg, here:

“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE. It would fit perfectly [for her] to go to Hollywood and for me would be another challenge in my career. And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”

Ronda Rousey has not been in the best shape since she has decided to quite the MMA business following her loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. She is reportedly training to make a debut in the WWE.

Her UFC colleague, Shayna Baszler has also signed a contract with the WWE as per reports from fightful.com. She took part in the Mae Young Classic tournament previously but came up short against Kairi Sane in the finale.
