Summerslam 2021 is expected to go down in a bigger way with live fans in attendance which keeps Brock Lesnar in conversation. WWE is reportedly trying to grab an outdoor stadium to host the show so that they can present an NFL gaming-worthy card. So they do want the top star to be back at the scene after his lengthy hiatus from last year’s Wrestlemania 36.
It was recently reported by Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men podcast that Brock Lesnar was mentioned early on in discussions for potential SummerSlam plans. The company wanted to involve him on the biggest show of the summer but there’s no such confirmation available on the plans that WWE possibly has around the former champion.
Brock Lesnar hasn’t been booked for a SummerSlam match and it’s been only noted that WWE wants him to be back on board for the evening. It was recently reported that WWE wanted a big main event and a celebrity guest host in Cardi B for SummerSlam, to make it NFL stadium-worthy.
A rumor claimed that the main event could feature John Cena vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But if Brock Lesnar decides to make his return then he can easily fit into WWE’s plans to stack things up for the 2021 edition of Summerslam. As of this writing, nothing is official for the card.

Brock Lesnar was name-dropped on Raw
To fuel up the rumors, WWE had Brock Lesnar name-dropped on the May 31 episode of Raw that is being considered as a major hint of things to come. Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre both talked about Lesnar, while WWE Champion Bobby Lashley asked why they were talking about a person who doesn’t even work for the company.
That being said, WWE can easily book Lesnar vs. Lashley match that is under speculation for quite a few years now as a dream match. Lashley has made it clear in multiple media interviews that he wants this match to happen at any cost.
Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE since dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in the main event of WrestleMania 36 Night Two in 2020. His WWE contract reportedly expired last August as the two sides failed to reach any sort of agreement, despite negotiations.
