WWE: What to Expect from this Week’s RAW: May 7, 2018

WWE Backlash has been over leaving without any impression, whatsoever. Following Wrestlemania 34, there were Superstar Shakeup and the Greatest Royal Rumble. Due to these two events, WWE could barely put a build up for the bygone PPV show, last night.

We hope that things are going to change starting from tonight’s episode of WWE Raw.

We have got the ever-exciting, Money in the Bank PPV in the WWE schedule, next which should make things interesting. Plus, we should learn about the next contender for the Universal Championship on this particular episode. This week’s WWE Raw will get hosted by the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, New York.

In the main event of the Backlash PPV, Roman Reigns picked up a huge win over Samoa Joe. It should put him back into the title picture. Plus, we should note that he was the one to win at the Greatest Royal Rumble match against Brock Lesnar. So, we will learn whether he deserves yet another opportunity or not. Check out WWE.com noting on this matter,

“Roman Reigns scored a huge victory over Samoa Joe in the main event on WWE Backlash, and after the controversial outcome against Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, many are calling him the “Uncrowned Universal Champion.” Is The Big Dog destined to once again step into the belly of The Beast?”

But, we should also remember that there were multiple other superstars who put up stellar performances on Sunday’s PPV event. Names like Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, and Bobby Lashley also deserve an opportunity to the championship. Hence, we might have to see a number one contender’s match for the title, as well.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins was the focal point of the Backlash PPV event after defeating the Miz with a benchmark performance. Going forward, he will seek a new opponent for his title or else, he might get inserted into the Money in the Bank qualifying match, as well.

It is being speculated that there will be two MITB matches to be hosted, this year. The first one is from the men’s division, whereas, the second one is from the women’s division. There will be a number of matches on WWE Raw to determine the participants of the 2018 MITB match.

In the women’s division, Nia Jax has been over with the feud against Alexa Bliss. She will look forward to receiving a new opponent to defend the WWE Raw women’s title, in future.

On the hand, the Riott Squad has all the momentums by their side after putting away Bayley and Sasha Banks. It will be interesting to see whether these two can team up, once again to take the heel faction.
