WWE: What to Expect from this Week’s Smackdown: August 29th, 2017

WWE Smackdown was robbed following Summerslam since the franchise player was swiped to the flagship show. John Cena came up victorious against Baron Corbin at the biggest party of the summer to go on to WWE Raw, the next night. But, the creative team of the blue brand managed to bounce back with two brand new acquisitions to the show.

Apart from that, two more main event rivalries are brewing up for the next PPV in line that is Hell in a Cell. Going forward, we can expect yet another epic edition of Smackdown on tonight’s show. The night will be hosted by the Verizon Arena in North Little Rocks, Arkansas.

Jinder Mahal had tasted for the first time in his life that how it feels to be hit by the Kinshasa from the furious striker in today’s WWE. Nakamura had a match against the Singh Brothers, last week. He was able to seek his redemption by laying both of them down.

Plus, Jinder was not let go, as well. It’s clear from The Artist’s intentions that he is not done from chasing the WWE Championship. There will be a rematch, certainly. The question is when the officials are going to announce it, officially. We might learn about it, tonight.

The main event from last week’s Smackdown witnessed Baron Corbin acting as a partial referee for the Styles vs Owens match. A number of altercations took place between Styles and Corbin indicating that a feud is coming up for the United States title between them which will kick-off.

Plus, Corbin’s partiality forced Shane McMahon to come down to the ring and call down the match, himself. Kevin Owens was happy about it, and he will vent out his frustrations regarding the outcome. Since he can’t demand a rematch for the title, anymore, he will go after the Smackdown commissioner, straight to start a feud.

No clue has been given about what’s next for the Smackdown Women’s championship, till now. Lana & Tamina are expected to come to the title picture, as seen on last week. Naomi still owes a rematch. Plus, Charlotte Flair would make her return to the show. So, it will be interesting how this situation will be addressed.

Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable might start teaming up together as stated by Daniel Bryan, last week. Bobby Roode should get a newer opponent in his new home. Plus, Randy Orton and Rusev should make their return to the show after one week’s hiatus.
