WWE: What To Expect From This Week’s Smackdown Live: August 15th, 2017

This week’s Smackdown Live will mark the final televised show before we head towards Summerslam PPV, this Sunday. The Tuesday Night show has already made the match card finalized for the biggest event of the summer and hence will need to focus more on the build-ups on the matches, unlike Raw. The flagship brand has just been confirmed the match card from their side, this week.

The championship matches are all set on the blue brand for weeks prior to Summerslam. But, we did not see them facing off, till date leading to bigger voids in these feuds. So, this portion needs to be addressed in the final show. The episode will be hosted by the Dunkin Donut Centre in Providence, Rhode Island.

Shinsuke Nakamura has been crowned the number one contender on the show, two weeks ago. But, he is yet to confront the champion, Jinder Mahal that could hype up the match. It is still not known whether Nakamura was not present on the main show of Smackdown, last week due to the backstage heat faced from Vince McMahon. But, this can damage the potential of this championship match.

Meanwhile, two matches were confirmed for tonight’s show. In the first one, Becky Lynch will take on Natalya in a singles contest. In the second one and the main event of the night, Jinder Mahal will take on John Cena which was supposed to be the Summerslam main event.

Natalya and Naomi are in the same situation. The matchup between them is confirmed since the Battleground PPV. However, no face-off happened, till date that can build more bad blood between these two ladies who can have a natural feud against each other due to their opposite on-screen characteristics. That should be arranged to let us see who would gain the upper hand heading towards the biggest event of the summer.

The situation between John Cena and Baron Corbin has become a lot more interesting with the social media interactions that brewed between Nikki Bella and Corbin. After a heated battle between them, John Cena also took a shot on The Lone Wolf on Instagram to heat up the rivalry prior to the event.

Last week, Randy Orton was attacked by Rusev while the show went-off the air. The Bulgarian Brute has been able to make the rivalry quite personal by virtue of this. So, he needs to be careful on the show, this week, as The Viper will look forward to striking him back.

As for the other feuds, a match between Mike Kanellis and Sami Zayn might be made official on the kick-off show. Plus, The New Day and The Usos will continue their heated altercations before going into the Summerslam PPV for the tag team title match.
