WWE: What to Expect From This Week’s Smackdown Live: February 27, 2018 1

At this time, the storyline angles of Smackdown Live has just started to pick up with WWE Fastlane just two weeks away.

This is the final brand-exclusive PPV that will set the lineups for the Wrestlemania show. Hence, moving away from the AJ Styles-Kevin Owens-Sami Zayn trio, we have received additional main-eventers to make things much interesting.

The momentums from the last couple of weeks should continue on tonight’s episode. The notable thing is that Smackdown goes Hollywood, this week as we expect to have multiple surprises on the show. It will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The scene will be heated up even more with the franchise player of the company returning to the blue brand, tonight. It is expected that he will be getting a new opponent for the Fastlane PPV to set up a Wrestlemania match, further. It is what WWE.com had to offer regarding Cena’s appearance,

“Last night on Raw, the 16-time World Champion revealed that while he may not have a way into WrestleMania through the red brand, he believes the door is wide open on SmackDown LIVE. The free agent has vowed to show up tonight, but how does Cena plan on getting to WrestleMania? Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”

The main event of last week’s Smackdown Live witnessed AJ Styles defeating Baron Corbin in a solid matchup. The champion won the contest, but the heel superstar was the one who stole the spotlight. He took out Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, single-handedly who were out for an ambush.

It was good to see this young superstar getting a spotlight. We can expect that he should continue this momentum heading on to Fastlane that would make things interesting in the championship picture. Baron Corbin might continue to have the momentums in his favour as tonight; he is getting the opportunity to take on Sami Zayn after the ambush attack delivered to him, two weeks ago.

The United States title picture has been more than interesting with the addition of Randy Orton into the mix. Shane McMahon definitely showed favouritism towards him while announcing the title match at Fastlane, last week. But, the match is not likely to stay that away as Jinder Mahal is lurking for another chance to the contest. So, it is likely that the title match will get converted into a triple threat.

Daniel Bryan should be the one to do this since he was voting for the former WWE Champion, all the way. Jinder stood tall for the last couple of weeks which is why he deserves the chance, for sure. So, the alteration of this US title match will help to continue the rift ongoing between the commissioner and general manager.

Also, Ruby Riott received a chance to compete in the women’s championship match. After almost three months, Charlotte Flair received a challenger against her. The leader of the Riott Squad picked up a huge win in her team’s favour, last week. Tonight, she will square off against Naomi who accepted the challenge thrown by Riott.

The tag-team championship match was also set. An old rivalry will be renewed between The Usos and The New Day. So, they will start the buildup for this upcoming match. Meanwhile, The Bludgeon Brothers will watch these two teams from a closer distance since they want an opportunity to the titles, as well.
