WWE: What To Expect From This Week’s Smackdown Live: June 27th, 2017
It is going to be yet another jam-packed edition of Smackdown Live with so much already being announced for the show. Following the controversy that surrounded at the inaugural Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Daniel Bryan stripped Carmella off the briefcase and the contract. As confirmed by him, the second ladder match for the briefcase will be contested on tonight’s episode.
Never before in the history of the company, we have witnessed two back to back ladder matches in a span of just 10 days. It will be going down in the new era of Smackdown Live aka the “land of opportunity” on the USA Network. The show will take place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.
It will be the second time for the five female superstars from the blue brand, Charlotte, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Carmella and Tamina that they will be competing in a historical rematch. As per the recent updates, WWE creative’s original choice for the winner was Carmella and she is still holding the spot.
Hence, this time, Carmella will climb the ladder and grab the briefcase on her own. Thus she will be the only one to hold some incredible records. She is the only one to lose the briefcase even after winning it. After the win, she will become the only woman to win two Money in the Bank matches and the second one comparing both male and female roster.
There will be another rematch from the Money in the Bank PPV. It will be going down between Naomi and Lana for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. The Ravishing Russian has been complaining that if it would not be for Carmella’s distraction then she will become the champion. She is getting another chance but not likely to capitalise on it.
Another big matchup has been announced for tonight’s Smackdown and that is between Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin. In the previous battles, Zayn has always emerged as the victorious one. But, Corbin is on top of his game, right now with the Money in the Bank briefcase by his side.
Plus, The Hype Bros will return into action on the night against the tag team champions. As per the creative, they are pencilled to get a title shot and that might come at the upcoming Battleground PPV. So, in order to earn that shot the team of Mojo and Ryder will pick up a triumphant victory over the Usos.
