WWE: What to Expect From This Week’s Smackdown Live: October 17th, 2017

We have seen the fallouts from the Hell in a Cell PPV on Smackdown Live, last week.

The show was not up to the mark considering poor setups. The reigning WWE Champion was not present on the main show, either. It is supposed to continue for one more week considering the buildups for next PPV in-line, Survivor Series will only start after TLC event gets over this Sunday.

Meanwhile, a Hell in a Cell rematch has been confirmed to take place on this edition of Smackdown Live. Plus, we expect to get some hints of the upcoming angles for the dual brand PPV. This edition will take place at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington.

No further fallouts were addressed in the WWE Championship picture, last week. Since Nakamura had a random tag team contest teaming up with Randy Orton, it is expected that he is out of the title picture, for now. We would learn more on this topic once Jinder Mahal returns to his show after a trip to his homeland, India. He is expected to elaborate his trip to the audience. Plus, he would issue an open Survivor Series challenge to Raw.

Meanwhile, a new number one contender should get determined for the WWE Championship on the show. If the speculations are to be believed, then AJ Styles should secure this spot. It was the sole reason that he lost the United States Championship to Baron Corbin.

Corbin, on the other hand, is expected to start a new rivalry for the US title, going forward. The bad blood between him and Tye Dillinger is not supposed to be over, yet. So, whether this should continue, or we will witness Nakamura to enter the picture to challenge him for the title.

In the already announced match for tonight’s Smackdown, Dolph Ziggler will get a rematch against Bobby Roode after the latter one pulled off a quick victory by pulling Ziggler’s tights at Hell in a Cell. Since this is the time when Roode establishes himself on the blue brand, he is expected to pick up yet another win.

The partnership between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will continue to grow as we go forward on Smackdown Live. It is a set up from the creative to make a tag team contest into fruition involving these two at the PPV.

In the Women’s Championship picture, the feud between Charlotte Flair and Natalya will continue. The rivalry has become quite personal after the champion delivered an attack on her opponent at Hell in a Cell. Plus, last week, she talked trash about Ric Flair making Charlotte infuriated. We expect to see some more heated segments between these two.
