WWE: What to Expect From Tonight’s Raw: December 18th, 2017

The Universal Championship picture is not clear for quite sometimes on WWE Raw. To address the scenario, none other than the title-holder will appear on the show to note on the next challenger that he might face at Royal Rumble.

Last week, Kane and Braun Strowman had a contender’s match which ended in a draw. Hence, the decision will be involving them.

Apart from this particular segment, there will be yet another number one contender’s match on the show for the Cruiserweight Championship. Also, the routine title defence is expected by Roman Reigns. Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw will be hosted live from the Dunkin Donuts Arena in Providence, Rhode Island.

Brock Lesnar was not expected to be back on the flagship program at this early point considering his next title defence will take place at the Royal Rumble, next year. However, with the confusions going on around, the beast incarnate and his advocate will address the situation by himself, whereas, we can expect to hear an official announcement from Kurt Angle, as per updates from WWE.com,

“The Beast Incarnate is back! After a monstrous main event pitting Braun Strowman against Kane ended in a double count-out, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar does not have a challenger for the Royal Rumble event. As the WWE Universe awaits a decision by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, The Conqueror resurfaces.”

As per the rumour mill, the next championship match will be a blockbuster one at the Royal Rumble. Instead of defending it against a singles competitor, Brock Lesnar will head into a triple threat match against both Kane and Braun Strowman. The GM, tonight might finalize this contest.

The stored number one contender’s match on WWE Raw will be contested between Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak. Rich Swann was out of the equation after suffering an arrest by the Orlando Police. So, Cedric received a second opportunity. Being a babyface, he is likely to capitalise on it and become the challenger of the heel champion, Enzo Amore.

Paige and her team, The Absolution managed to keep the momentum on their side by picking up a victory at the Tribute to the Troops event. However, they need to remember the Raw roster has been united against them, as seen on last week. So, they might just need to be more careful after arriving on WWE Raw.

We expect to see Woken Matt Hardy in person on the show after two back to back promo segments on the Tron for the last couple of weeks. Also, there should be an Intercontinental Championship match. The Miz is expected to make a comeback to the show and get his rematch against Roman Reigns, if only he attends the show.
