WWE: What to Expect From Tonight’s Smackdown Live: December 26, 2017 1

WWE will spend two consecutive nights in the city of Chicago as part of their Holiday tour for Christmas, as they continue to entertain the fans. Tonight’s Smackdown Live will be the last televised edition of WWE programming in the year 2017 which means they are likely to close the year on a high note. As a Holiday gift, the first hour of the show remains ad-free on the USA Network.

The night is expected to be headlining with multiple championship matches just like we have seen on WWE Raw, last night. Also, new rivalries expected to kick off for 2018 alongside the update over Dolph Ziggler abandoning the United States Championship. All of these will go down at the All-State Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

As reported earlier, the venue was advertising a championship match on the last episode of Smackdown Live. To sell out the arena tickets, it was locally advertised that AJ Styles would put his title on the line against an anonymous opponent. The recent updates from WWE.com also support the same,

“As 2017 concludes, WWE Champion AJ Styles is looking toward the future and awaiting the next challenger to his coveted title. As Team Blue gets closer to the start of The Road to WrestleMania, who will step up to The Phenomenal One? Find out Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”

It is likely that being a fighting champion, Styles will issue an open challenge for his title which would be accepted by Jinder Mahal. It should set up a title match at the same building where Jinder won the prime title back in May. It is also likely that anyone from Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn might also become the number one contender for the title.

The YEP movement is continuously growing up following the heel duo’s win at the Clash of Champions PPV. Relying on this, the bad blood between Daniel Bryan will continue to grow, as well to culminate a big match soon, perhaps.

Dolph Ziggler’s career is said to be in jeopardy after his departure from last week’s Smackdown Live leaving the US title. An address should be made by the authority figures about the situation. According to the sources, Ziggler might be kept off the show for a couple of weeks from now before returning with a brand new title, next year.

Also, we expect to see some new names from the women’s division to throw themselves into the mix for the women’s Royal Rumble match, whereas, Charlotte Flair looks forward to getting a new number one contender for her women’s championship.
